By working together we can achieve greater impact. At Water Can we work collaboratively by sharing our skills, expertise and learning to create positive change for the individuals and communities we work with around the world.
At Water Can it is our shared mission to reach out and work with remote communities often missed out or left behind. It’s vital that everyone can enjoy safe water, adequate sanitation and good hygiene, every day, wherever they live.
Our work isn’t about one-off support: we promote self-sufficiency in everything we do. When people experience the real, lasting impacts on their lives they don’t want to go back to how it was before.
In countries that have instant access to safe water it is difficult to comprehend how important this fundamental human right is. Our aim is to ensure that access to safe water is a given, not a luxury that can only be dreamed of.
Many communities around the world face a daily struggle without access to safe water, leading to damaging consequences including illness, death, lack of opportunity, education and time. Our aim is to fulfil our vision of providing every community with safe water.
We work with communities around the world, enabling and empowering them to become self-sufficient by providing them with water resources that are sustainable and lasting.
Wherever we live in the world, unsafe drinking water, inadequate sanitation and poor hygiene results in serious health problems which can quickly spread between households and communities.
Opportunity grows when people have better access to safe water: children have more chance to complete their education, providing a stronger starting point to their lives; with water for irrigation or small business ventures, earnings increase, reducing poverty and improving wellbeing.
In most communities, women and girls are responsible for collecting water for their families, meaning walking great distances, instead of spending time on other community activities, earning money or going to school
Good health, the chance to go to school, to work, to earn your own income. It all starts with safe water and a tap. With this campaign we're demonstrating how safe water can change lives in the world's most remote communities, and how you can make an incredible difference to those currently living without it.
All you have to do is 'tap' to donate. The money raised will help us save lives, improve quality of life and provide opportunities for the families and individuals we work with all over the world.
The first Water Can Collective Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) event takes place in London’s Hackney Wick on 12th May 2022. Gather together your team and take to the water to raise funds for a great cause.

Water Can partners work in nine countries across three different continents, including Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, Mozambique, Zambia, Cambodia, Nicaragua, India, and Nepal.
Last year, our combined charities improved the lives of over 750,000 people and contributed towards 12 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Unlocking opportunity for Kenya’s poorest residents, by ensuring everyone has sustainable solutions to access clean water, safe toilets and good hygiene. By reducing the time lost to water collection and preventable disease Dig Deep removes barriers to learning and earning, allowing people to lift themselves out of poverty. Working with local government and businesses to build self-sustaining systems.
Enabling marginalised communities to achieve water security by providing the technical and financial support needed to manage their water resources. Focussing on communities cut off from society by giving them ownership over the new water systems that they help to design and develop. In particular, focussing on the role of women and girls in communities as well as elderly and disabled people.
Working at a grassroots level to support communities with access to sustainable safe water solutions, sanitation facilities and knowledge of safe hygiene practices. The projects are community owned and monitored for years after, they include the construction of hand-dug and drilled wells, pipelines, sand dams, rainwater harvesting systems and latrines, and hygiene and sanitation programmes.
Reversing aid dependency by supporting local entrepreneurs to develop water services businesses that provide affordable water products and maintenance to poor communities where 85% of residents are rural and rely entirely on subsistence farming. Developing a network of sustainable small businesses that are maintaining community water points and selling low-cost irrigation and household pumps.
Working with district, provincial and national partners to support lasting, local solutions to reach everyone with safe water, sanitation and hygiene. Impact include better health, more chance to work and greater access to education. Local focus on training small businesses to build and maintain wells and toilets. Low-cost options mean more people reached, greater productivity and progress towards safe water for all.
